Here are some ideas to help you pack your things when moving: Before you pack: Declutter: Moving is a great time to get rid of unwanted items. Donate, sell, or recycle things you no longer need or use. Gather supplies: Stock up on boxes, packing paper, bubble wrap, packing tape, a permanent marker, and a label maker (optional). Make a plan: Decide whether to pack room by room or by category. Create a moving checklist to stay organized. Packing tips: Start early: Pack non-essential items first, leaving things you'll need closer to the move for easy access. Pack similar items together: Group items by room or function to make unpacking easier. Label everything clearly: Include the room name and a brief description of the contents on each box. Use the right size boxes: Don't overload boxes or use ones that are too flimsy. Heavier items go in smaller boxes. Protect fragile items: Wrap them securely with bubble wrap or packing paper. Fill empty spaces in boxes with packing peanuts or crumpled packing paper. Pack an essentials box: Include items you'll need right away after moving, like toiletries, medications, a change of clothes, and a first-aid kit. Keep important documents together: Secure passports, wills, and other valuables in a separate box or carry-on bag. Empty liquids: Drain and properly dispose of any liquids from containers before packing. Disassemble furniture: This will save space on the moving truck and protect pieces from damage.
